It’s ok to work hard, as long as you play harder."

I was surfing in Bali during May, 2003 and was staying on the cliff above Bingin and Impossibles. As I met the friendly locals (Balinese and ex-Pats) and they found out I live in Orlando, Florida, they would ask if I knew Joe. It was amazing how many people knew him and the nice things they would say. I would tell them that I did know Joe, however, I am friends with Joe's father, George. They would describe how positive and happy Joe was and that he was always making them laugh. I guess the word spread fast that someone was staying in the area from Joe's hometown. One Balinese lady that I had not previously met came up to me on the beach, introduced herself, and volunteered that Joe had stayed at her Losman a lot and what a great person he was. Based on what I heard about Joe in Indo and what I am learning about him from reading the memories of others, I wish I would have had the fortune of crossing paths with Joe.
